Wool and Latex Panels

Answering whether wool or latex is best is difficult, as this is a very individual decision, and we recommend that you try out both to see what suits you best.

The advantages of latex are that it retains its shape over a longer period and does not require re-stuffing or similar maintenance. Saddles with latex panels can be used on multiple horses with the help of saddle pads that offer correction.

The advantages of wool are that the panels can be custom-fitted to a single horse with great precision and can be adjusted as needed.

The disadvantages of latex are that it cannot be adjusted or re-stuffed by a saddler, as it comes in a standard shape.

The disadvantages of wool stuffing are that it compresses over time and loses its elasticity and spring. Wool stuffing requires re-stuffing and regular checks. How often this is needed depends on usage.

LATEX PANELS

The saddle panels are made in France by ETS-Palau, a manufacturer specializing in latex foam for professional sports riders. The seat and knee rolls are made in Lithuania in computer-controlled molds designed by us. Starting from 2024, the latex panels are also covered with foam that makes the pads much closer to the horse's back. From 2024, we have altered the shape of the panels to offer more shoulder freedom. The panels can be replaced if necessary.

WOOL PANELS

Starting from 2024, wool panels have been made with shoulder freedom. The panels are felted towards the horse's back to create a smooth surface. Wool filling is a mix of natural wool with a bit of synthetic wool blended in. The wool filling is designed to be even without lumps, yet still remain springy. Holes have been made in the panels towards the saddle, so adjustments can be made without removing the panels from the saddle.
